On Friday 21 January Lord Norton, a Conservative Peer in the House of Lords came to QM to give a talk on the functions of the House of Lords, and the debate on the reform of the second chamber. It was a great privilege to hear his views, as he is the UK’s leading constitutional expert, and his argument for retaining the House of Lords was highly logical and persuasive.
Many thanks to Mrs Batten for the organisation of this evening.
