Academic Scholars from Years IV and V attended a series of lectures given by eminent scientists on a variety of topics. The highlight of the day was the lecture given by Professor Lord Robert Winston who answered Gerardine Labonte-Hazlewood’s question on the use of stem cells. Lord Winston left the stage and came down to where we were sitting so Gerardine could ask her question over his microphone to the 1100 students in the City Hall!   Other lecturers included Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Professor Steve Jones, Dr Simon Singh and Professor Jim Al-Khalili who all appear regularly on BBC television and radio.
