Year II visit Magna Discovery Centre!

On arrival the girls participated in a Forensic Science based workshop to identify who done it! They carried out some chromatography of the inks used to produce the counterfeit notes, decided if the coffee had been poisoned and dusted for fingerprints. They also looked at blood splats to determine the position of the murder weapon. It was the DNA results which finally identified the murderer as Psycho Sue.

In the Fire Pavilion the girls had a demonstration of iron working at the forge. They learned some new terms and came back to school with some interesting souvenirs. After lunch they watched the light and sound show The Big Melt which informed the girls about the steel making processes that had taken place at Magna until its closure as one of the largest steelworks in Europe. To complete the visit the girls had time to enjoy the other pavilions; Earth, Air and Water. Before we returned on the bus the Sci-Tek Adventure Playground was filled with lots of excited shrieks and giggles.
