The Junior and Middle School production of the Wizard of Oz in the newly named Chapman Theatre was an outstanding success. Congratulations to all the girls involved!
 
Physical Education

Girls have the opportunity to study PE at GCSE, AS and A2 levels.



At GCSE the AQA syllabus is followed 
Topics studied include -
Health, fitness and physical activity.
Factors affecting performance 
Factors affecting participation
Resources for participation and performance
Physical activities.
Assessment is by - examination - 30% 
Course work - 20% 
Practical performance in 4 activities - 50%



At AS and A2 the Edexcel syllabus is followed
At AS level topics studied include -
The social basis of sport and recreation - weighting 15% by examination
Enhancing performance - weighting 20% by coursework
Exercise and training - weighting 15% by examination.



At A2 level topics studied include -
Global trends in International sport -weighting15% by examination
Refining performance - weighting 15% by coursework
Scientific principles of exercise and performance - weighting 20% by examination. 
This course, combined with other A levels, will give girls the opportunity to follow a career in Physical Education, Sports management and Physiotherapy or study a wide range of University courses.
