During the Summer term girls can participate in most athletic disciplines including high jump, long jump, shot, discus, javelin, 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m and hurdles. There are teams for every age group. The extensive fixture list includes both boarding and local day schools and in addition the school enters individuals and teams for local, regional and national competitions including: -

Athletics is a compulsory element of the curriculum for Years I-IV and may be continued as an option in Years V and VI. There is also a thriving athletics club which meets once a week during the summer term. The Sports Day competition takes place at the end of the summer term where all lower school and over seventy five percent of the upper school participate. It includes all major athletic disciplines as well as walking, tug of war and a unique relay competition between teams of twenty four girls.
