QM twists many a tongue on the European Day of Languages
They celebrated with a two-day programme of activities for the whole school to enjoy.
The day was organised by Miss Leclerc and allowed girls to use and improve their language skills in many varied and entertaining ways.
Girls and staff worked together in lessons to incorporate modern European languages and cultures, creating many opportunities for engaging and stimulating cross-curricular learning. In a Food Technology lesson Year II girls where taught how to cook Spanish paella by Miss Rickard, while Miss Leclerc taught the girls the Spanish words for all the ingredients they were using.
Other highlights included a vocabulary hunt for Year I, a competition for Year II to make posters promoting interest in and learning of modern European languages, and Years III and above made short films using European languages to be entered in the LAFTAs (Languages and Film Talent Awards).
