SPORTS RESULTS 1-6 February 2010

Latest Sports results for Hockey, Lacrosse, Squash and Swimming including the Northern Schools Lacrosse Tournament held at QM on Wednesday 3rd February.

Year I

Swimming
vs. Harrogate Ladies  lost 40 – 28

Year II

Hockey
vs. The Mount  won 2 – 0
This was an excellent game with everyone working exceptionally hard and passing accurately and this led to a good win.

Swimming
vs. Harrogate Ladies  won 41 – 27
This team are still unbeaten since arriving at QM in Year I

Year III

Hockey
vs. Tadcaster Grammar  won 4 – 0
Worked well as a team and in the second half played fluid, expansive hockey.

Swimming
vs. Harrogate Ladies  lost 33 – 35

Lacrosse
vs Moreton Hall   lost  13 – 3

North Schools Tournament
vs Ampleforth            won  6 – 0
vs Bolton                  won  2 – 1
vs Casterton             won  5 – 0
vs Harrogate             won  2 – 1
vs Moreton Hall         won  1 – 0
vs Queens, Chester   lost  3 – 1
vs Withington            drew  1 – 1

Overall came 2nd out of 8 teams and played superbly throughout the tournament. Well done to all those who played.

Year IV

Lacrosse
vs Moreton Hall  lost  11 – 9
This was an excellent game played at a very high standard and we were unlucky to lose a very close encounter.
 
North Schools Tournament
vs Sedbergh       won  6 – 1
vs Harrogate       won  4 – 3
vs Moreton Hall   lost  2 - 1
vs Bolton            drew 2 – 2

We finished 3rd in the tournament.

Seniors

Hockey

vs. Ripon Grammar combined 1st XI/2nd XI won 4-2

Squash
vs. Harrogate Ladies won 4-1

Lacrosse
vs Moreton Hall  1st XII won 15-6
This was an outstanding team performance where everyone worked tirelessly and produced an excellent result.

2nd XII lost 8-5
The team played exceptionally well against good opposition and were unlucky not to come away with a draw.

With regard to all the Lacrosse this weekend a special mention must go to all the goalkeepers: Alex Townsend Rose 1st XII, Rosie Gillett 2nd XII, Aidina Brownlow U15 and Georgie Leech U14.
