Last Saturday the 1st and 2nd Lacrosse XI played Durham University. We were met by two familiar faces, our old Head Girl Jenny Hobbiss and our old sports prefect Anna Wilson. The match was intense and a great opportunity to work on our defence as their attack was so strong. Unfortunately we lost 13-5. Player of the match was Rosie Trower for her fab interceptions. The seconds also lost 14-6 but displayed great team work and attacking skills, Rosie Haggas and Lily Gurney were players of the match.
The under 15s, 14s, 13s, and 12s all played Moreton Hall our toughest opposition on Saturday, a great result for the U13s and U12s who won their matches 9-3 and 2-1respectively.
This Wednesday the 1sts and 2nds travelled to Casterton School. After a long journey and despite some missing team members the 1sts managed to pull off a convincing victory of 12-5.
The U15Bs captained by Flo Wilkinson played Ampleforth College’s first team and narrowly lost 9-5; this was a great result considering the age difference between our players and theirs.
Congratulations also go to Georgie Leech who has been selected for the North of England Lacrosse U19B squad as goal keeper and Vanessa Cheung who won her county badminton matches last weekend, congratulations.
