Our long weekend in Athens was surprisingly enjoyable, not only because Mr and Mrs King were very un-teacher-like and great fun but mainly because we managed to see the Acropolis, the Agora, the (rather amusing) changing of the guard and much more without being hindered by the strikes. We even got to see the sun, and as Athens was celebrating its version of Mardi Gras we even got festive with the locals. All we can say to explain our immense good fortune is that the gods on Olympus must have been smiling down on us.
