Year III enjoyed their Chemistry trip to the National Coalmining Museum in Wakefield.
Mrs Morton reports:
On Wednesday 19th May the Chemistry Department took all of Year III to the National Coal Mining Museum at Wakefield. The morning was spent carrying out sampling and analysis of mine water that is processed at the Water Treatment Facility on site which incorporates a series of Reed beds. The field work was led by members of the Chemistry Department at Huddersfield University and they were impressed by the positive attitude shown by the girls. After lunch we had an underground tour which was fun and informative. We finished off the day by visiting the other galleries and exhibits at the museum.
