It is my final year, and to be honest, it is quite a worry to think that six years have already flown by. From the cosy nest of First year’s Red House to the simply incredible Upper Sixth cottages all in a blink of an eye is indeed a frightening thought. However one of the many charms of QM life is that it keeps you wonderfully busy. So wonderfully busy that there is simply not enough time to think about things like that. And there’s no doubt that this new academic year is already off to a cracking start.
Over the summer as most of us relaxed and tanned (or in some cases, burnt) on beaches, the fab maintenance team at QM was hard at work re-vamping Lower Sixth cloisters, where now it shows off a fantastic common room and bar-kitchen area. As well, the Middle School boarding areas in the Main School were completely modernised and made just that little bit cosier to add to QM’s already warm and friendly atmosphere. So now with life being just that little bit more luxurious, everyone is raring to go. Lessons have started, the Lax and Hockey season is already under way, House Captains are busy organising the much anticipated House event of the year: Fun Song, and most importantly (for the Upper Sixth at least) the school Tuck Shop has been newly stocked. This term does indeed look like it’s going to be one of QM’s busiest and greatest yet!
